BEAUTY: BORDEAUX

BORDEAUX

If there is a colour de jour it has to be BORDEAUX.
It's enhanced depth of red has got my nails and lips extremely happy at the moment.
We all love a classic red but this is a perfect twist that works for day and night.
Coming into Fall this berry colour has to be on top of your beauty regime. With fabulous shades from merlot to an in-depth blackberry shiraz why wouldn't you want your lip and
nail colours to resemble red wine?
It's rocked runways from YSL, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton.
Pair this with a bare face after work and I would say your ready to pack a serious punch (in a sexy, sexy way)
When it comes to lips stick; from matte-creams to lip stains we have picked our absolute favourites.
Your fingertips? I say the darker the better.
Don't be afraid to rock your inner vamp.

BEAUTY: Scrub Up

SCRUB UP
Scrubs can often be too harsh and take away the moisture from our skin leaving it dry and sometimes rough to the touch. Never fear, we have taken the hard work out for you and chosen 10 scrubs that leave your skin feeling refreshed and balanced just like a little scrub should.

1. PLANET EVE CERTIFIED ORGANICS 'Tropical Fruit Enzyme Facial Exfoliator' $39
Easily my favourite smell ever. Packed with papaya, guava, pineapple and enriched with Vitamin C this smells good enough to eat. It's extremely gentle so no harsh scrubbing necessary. Best part its Certified organic and cruelty free. Perfect for all skin types.

2. JURLIQUE 'Daily Exfoliating Cream' $30/40ml
Easily one of my favourites. It's loaded with oats, almonds and honey. It smells good enough to eat.  After using this my skin felt so incredibly smooth and revitalised it's one too keep in my beauty routine from here on out.

3.THE BODY SHOP 'Vitamin C Microdermabrasion' $32.50
A weekly home spa facial at home - yes please. Only use this one twice a week. One that I truly believe evens out skin tone as well as it's texture by removing dead skin cells to leave skin feeling flawless.

4. L'OCCITANE 'Gommage Rosee Du Matin' Exfoliating gel $32
The texture on this little beauty is nothing far of light and foamy. All you need is a small amount and it acts as if it is melting away all the dirt and grim on your skin. A real winner.

5.  LUSH 'Ocean Salt Facial Scrub' $22.50/120g
This salt scrub is perfect for not only your face but your body too - double action! Punchy citrus, zesty tones and rich avocado make this one a standout. I'd recommend this one for oily type skins so if your skin is prone to oil and dullness stick to this everyday. For everyone else this one is good for a 1-3 day cleanse.

6. BIORE 'Blemish Clearing Scrub', $10.99
Let's start by saying it's oil free because when it comes to daily exfoliates this is exactly what you need. If your after a tougher scrub this one is the way to go.The beads are gentle enough for everyday use.

7. THE JOJOBA COMPANY 'Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser' $34.99
If you need an exfoliated that is a little more gentle, then
look no further than this little skin miracle. Plus side
it's also a 2-in-1 cleanser so one step to skin perfection
what more could you want?

8. NEUTROGENA 'Rapid Clear Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub', $13.99
This one is perfect for those pesky little blackheads. It's extremely gentle and the little smoothing beads conditions your skin to help prevent it from over-drying.

9. AVEENO 'Skin Brightening Daily Scrub' $13.99
Say your skin is a little sensitive this is the scrub for you. It's oil and soap free and suitable for daily use on sensitive skin. Not to mention it uses moisture rich natural soy extract with smooth beads to exfoliate and bring out your skins natural radiance.

10. LUSH 'Herbalism fresh facial scrub' $16.95/100g
The name says it all for this little tub of greeny goodness. I can easily say this is my go to pot of magic. No joke. It wipes away red sports without over drying. It's waxy in texture and rich in bran which gently soaks up excess oil with it stripping any of its moisture. It has a touch of grounded up almonds that gently remove dead surface cells. OH, best part it's also vegan.

BEAUTY: nourishedlife.com.au

If you haven't heard of it prepare for it to reinvent your beauty cupboard forever. If your anything like me you try and be wary of what is going onto you skin in terms of make up and skin care but are lost when it comes to trying to find your favourite substitutes at affordable prices. That's where nourishedlife.com.au comes in. It comes everything from make-up, to skin care and everything in between.
We were lucky enough to catch up with the founder of this
little piece of beauty heaven - Irene Falcone, gives us the lowdown...

What made you start nourishedlife.com.au?
“After years of feeling lethargic and getting sick all the time, I made a snap decision to quit toxins! I threw out every single beauty product, cleaning product and all of my cookware. I was left with totally bare cupboards and I wanted to replace everything with safe, natural alternatives. After months of looking, I was just so overwhelmed because there was nowhere to go where I could just replace everything and know what I was buying was completely natural and safe. So I decided to set up my own shop based around this need.”

What is your fail proof skin regime?
“I know this sounds so simple, but all we need is a basic organic cleanser, toner, day cream, eye cream and SPF. Then at night a good Rosehip oil!”

5 products you can't live without?
1.       The 100% Pure Coffee Bean Eye Cream – The organic green coffee in this works wonders for fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. http://www.nourishedlife.com.au/eye-cream/4689/100-pure-coffee-bean-caffeine-eye.html

2.       Eco Tan Certified Organic fake tan. Because it’s 100% natural, there is no chemical smell or orange tone. http://www.nourishedlife.com.au/organic-fake-tan/4352/eco-tan-invisible-tan-certified-organic.html
3.       The 100% Pure Black Tea Mascara, because its 100% natural, doesn’t irritate my eyes and it stays put! http://www.nourishedlife.com.au/natural-eye-makeup/7156/100-pure-fruit-pigmented-black-tea.html

4.       The Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream. This is the one cream used by countless Hollywood celebrities, and once you try it you’ll see why Madonna won’t leave home without! It does everything from reduce eczema skin to minimise scars. http://www.nourishedlife.com.au/skincare-moisturiser/14010/egyptian-magic-all-purpose-cream.html

5.       The Pai BioRegenerate™ Organic Rosehip Oil – one of the most concentrated pure Rosehip oils on the market. http://www.nourishedlife.com.au/natural-face-masks/16596/pai-bioregenerate-organic-rosehip-oil.html

Do you think there is a current trend to choose natural and organic beauty products? If so why?
“People are becoming more and more conscious of what they are actually putting on and into their body. This trend is a very natural progression from healthy eating and part of an overall healthy lifestyle choice. Once anyone swaps from a chemical based product to a natural alternative and they see the results in how they look and feel, there is just no going back!”

What is your number one tip for busy people wanting to start a nourished life and change to natural and organic products?
“My best tip is to simply replace each item as you need it. For example, once your old mascara runs out, simply replace it with an organic one and before you know it, your entire home will be transformed!”

What is your philosophy on good skin care?
“This doesn’t need to be over complicated. So many ingredients in mainstream skin care offer no skin benefits at all, such as chemical preservatives, artificial colours and fragrances. Some of the most basic and affordable organic skin care products provide the best results. It’s important is that you find products suited to your skin type and add a good quality serum to target additional needs, such as anti-aging or acne.”

So if your looking to change up your beauty routine to something a little more natural and chemical free than we suggest you jump on to nourishedlife.com.au there is no way you can go wrong. Better yet there are also some fabulous Christmas gifts online to get you or a loved one started.

BEAUTY: Top 5

KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Cream $64 125mL

Now if your anything like me a great facial moisturiser is like a great pair of jeans - once you find the perfect pair you buy it in every colour right? Well this tub (trust me its huge) is my saving grace in the beauty department. It completely balances your skin making it feel smoother even in the harshest conditions this winter. Perfect for day or night you would be crazy not to get your hands on it.

MOR Lip Macaron in Blood Orange $9.95

Not only does this little pot of goodness smell divine, I absolutely love the packaging. Its loaded with vitamin E and beeswax working together to add subtle shine and moisture. Tick in my books on the lip front.

Prada Candy $170 80mL

The undertones of this perfume are filled with vanilla, a pop of caramel and a sophisticated mix of musks its girly yet strong enough to stand its ground. I cant stand having to reapply perfume as the day goes by but with this bold perfume I don't have to. It stays on for hours on end and that is one of the things I definitely look for in a fragrance. Plus the packaging is anything short but original its a timeless fragrance to add to your collection.

Kit Cosmetics 'Flying High Lime' $15.95

A nail colour that smells like the fruit its imitating when dry? Yes please! I cant stand when nail colour matches the dull weather as soon as the season turns. So why not have nails as loud and fun as summer? This one is a tick in my books, its one of my favourite this month.

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner $29.95

I am a new lover of the Lush Cosmetics brand and I will tell you it hasn't let me or my skin down yet. This particular body conditioner has saved my skin this season. Its jammed with a rose scent and every time I put it on I can tell its nourishing my skin with great results. Now the best way to use this little pot of magic is to rub it all over your skin after a shower, rinse and pat dry, but if you don't have the time I am all for skipping the rinse step - it doesn't leave an oily trail so its perfectly okay to leave on all day.

BEAUTY: Essentials

A girls make-up bag is easily a world of wonder on its own. So many new products grace the shelves and being women we feel like we have to have them, right there - right now. Now I am not saying fight the urge, lets be serious the more beauty products the better in my book but it's always a good idea to have your must have list. Products you carry in your make-up bag to help you feel fresh and beautiful everyday. Pictured below are the products currently sitting nicely in my little bag of tricks.

1. Tender Love and Carry coral candy dot make-up bag $6.80, 2. Body Shop Vitamin C energizing face spritz $23.95, 3. Clinique anti-blemish solutions liquid foundation $50, 4. Bobbie Brown pink quartz shimmerbrick blush compact $85, 5. Clinique redness solutions daily protective base SPF 15 $36, 6. Napoloen Pedris mesmer-eyes mascara $38, 7. Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain $17.95, 8. Lancome la base pro perfecting make-up primer oil free $55, 9. Natio blusher brush $12.95

1. Isn't this little beauty pouch just the cutest? I am sucker for anything with polka-a-dots so I had to have this one right away! Oh and its under $10 hello bargain.

2. You can't go wrong with a face spritc and this one from the Body Shop is a winner. Its hydrating and refreshing.

3. This little foundation is a treasure in my eyes. It's extremely light on the skin and helps eliminate redness and the ultimate concealer. It's still light enough to not be noticeable on the skin and anything oil and fragrance free is a winner in my books.

4. Pink shimmer always gives off a frsh and youthful glow on your skin and Bobbie brown nails it with this little compact. Not to mention it doubles as an eyeshadow!

5. This Clinique redness protective base I use when I haven't had enough sleep and my skin is a little off its A-game. With SPF it sure is a beauty buy you can't live without. It fights environmental elements like a little superhero.

6.Volume, bounce and length - say hi to the ultimate mascara by Napoleon Pedris. With two sides one helps boost and the other separates.

7. Lip stains are my favourite thing in the world. This one by revlon is exceptional. IT lasts up to three hours and isn't too overpowering to rock during the day.

8. I definitely believe in preparing your skin before using make-up and this Lancome primer leaves your skin feeling smooth and look radiant.

9. Natio blusher brush feels so smooth against the skin which is extremely important to allow your chosen blush to be applied comfortably and evenly.
